A SCORM package, which stands for Sharable Content Object Reference Model, is a standard format – a means of producing and managing educational content – widely used in e-learning. It works through adhering to a set of standards and specifications that allow e-learning content to be consistently produced, as well as to be fully interoperable with other SCORM systems.
Following the steps below will allow you to create and use your own SCORM packages on online training platforms:
Create your educational content using a tool compatible with SCORM. You can use an authoring tool or even convert PowerPoint training courses to SCORM with isEazy Author.
Exporting your content in SCORM format directly from the authoring tool will generate a ZIP file containing all the necessary data and resources.
Upload the new file to your online training platform or LMS. When compatible, the platform will automatically recognize the SCORM package and incorporate it into your course. By using tools like isEazy Author you can even share it as a direct link or simply upload it to a website or intranet.
Use the tracking and assessment features of your LMS to monitor student progress and evaluate their performance. If you want to know more about the monitoring and evaluation functionalities that an LMS can offer you, check out this article.
