Six tricks to getting the most out of isEazy Author


Do you use isEazy often? Then this article is for you because we’re going to explain some useful tricks to make things easier and get more out of the platform when building your e-learning courses.

Still haven’t given isEazy a try? Don’t go yet. In this article you’ll see how easy it is to create SCORM courses in a simple and professional way.  

Are you ready? Let’s get started!


1. Duplicate projects

You’ve finished a course and want to reuse it because it has the same structure as another one you need to create. Great! Better to make a duplicate than to start from scratch.

How do you do this?

Go to the main page, where all you see is the login. Identify the project you want to duplicate and click the “duplicate” icon. It will automatically create a copy of your project so you can modify it to your liking.

Bonus: you can also use this feature when you’re making changes to a course and you aren’t sure how they’re going to turn out. So you can create different “versions” and go back to previous ones whenever you want. Don’t forget to erase what you no longer need once you’ve finished.


2. Change the index or structure of a course

You’re finishing your course, and suddenly your boss tells you to add another chapter… right in the middle of it! So you have to change the order of the rest of chapters. Don’t sweat it, everything’s okay! With isEazy you can restructure your chapters and sections whenever you want.

How do you do this?

Log in to the edition of your course and notice the vertical dots on the right of each section. You guessed it: these allow you to move sections (with all their contents) from one place to another within the course.

If you want to add a new section, just create it at the end and then place it wherever you need. Modifying the structure of your courses has never been so flexible.


3. Modify the structure or layout of a screen

You’re looking at that screen you just finished and that’s turned out perfect. Mmmm… Maybe not. Maybe it would be better to add one more section, or make the ones you have horizontal instead of vertical, don’t you think? Changing your mind is good, and with isEazy it’s also easy. If you’re not fully convinced by the structure of your screen, you can choose another one whenever you want without losing the work you’ve done so far.

How do you do this?

Head to the screen you want to modify and display the layout menu to choose a different one. You can try as many as you want!


4. Change where the content appears on a screen

When you begin creating your screen you have some idea of how you want it to be. For example, you may have decided on a specific order to present to your team members. Once you’ve finished the layout of the screen, you may change your mind.

Can you do that?

Of course. There are two ways:

  • Click the “move” icon on the edit part of the screen. This allows you to move the elements on your screen simply by dragging them to their new position. Click the icon again when you’ve finished and the elements will remain in their new position.
  • Look at the list of items you have in the menu on the right. Right next to it, the icon with the vertical dots appears again. This allows you to move elements up and down to place them in a new position.


5. Take advantage of the layout or interactives on a screen

Again, you’re looking at that screen that you just finished and you’re so proud of it. The background, margins, colors… That’s when you think you’re going to have to do it all over again on the next screen. Did you really think we were going to let you waste your time that way? With isEazy you can duplicate a screen and place it wherever you want:

  • Immediately following
  • In another subsection of the project (it will be placed at the end)
  • In another chapter of another project

How do you do this?

  • If you want to copy the screen to that which immediately follows, click the Duplicate icon.
  • If you want to make a copy of the screen in another section or chapter, or in another project, click on the icon Duplicate slide in another subsection. In the menu that appears, the first field is your projects, the second the chapters or sections of the selected project and the third the subchapters.

Bonus: you can use this feature to create a model course where you save your favorite screens. That way you won’t have to remember where they were to be able to use them again.


6. Reuse interactives

You can also reuse the content within the same screen or move it to a new screen. For example, you’ve planned a screen that has several Card type interactives. Once you have created the first one with its content, image and colors, you don’t need to do all that work again on the next one. Copy the first one and change the text.

How do you do this?

On the right-side menu, find the item you want to reuse. You will see several icons appear, one of which is the Duplicate icon. Click on it and you’ll see how your element is duplicated.

Bonus: If you want to reuse the interactive on a new screen, make a copy as we have seen, activate the Move button and drag it to the new screen where you want to place it. If you place it on the Create slide icon, you will create a new screen directly with your interactive. That’s it!
